Growing up in Glusburn

At South Craven, I joined the Youth Centre and began working for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Again I started new activities such as life saving which were based in the local area. I gained the Bronze and Silver Awards and have nearly completed my Gold Award. Whilst studying for my A levels I started working in the kitchen at the Dog & Gun, a nearby pub and later at Aireville Swimming Pool in Skipton.

After taking French, Biology, Chemistry and General Studies at Advanced Level, I moved up to Newcastle for University. It was really then that I realised how lucky I was to have kept the same friends that I have had all my life. However after having lived in the centre of Newcastle, where everything is close by, coming back to live in Glusburn is hard and far less convenient for seeing people from university.
