Glusburn Institute

This last year has been a very exciting time for Glusburn Institute. Since 1996, the Management Committee has been planning a major refurbishment of the stage facilities in the Main Hall. Under new legislation, the previous equipment would have been condemned and would have had to be removed. This would have turned this beautiful Grade 11 listed building into a white elephant, making its viable use and upkeep almost impossible.

Under the leadership of Allan Clough, however, the Institute has benefited from a major upgrade in facilities which makes it one of the best-equipped small theatres in the area. The construction of the Fly Tower means that quite ambitious productions can be undertaken - and already, there have been productions which have used the new apparatus.
