SNAPSHOT OF THE VILLAGE

Economy

The former textile mill built by the Horsfall family, which dominates the village, is now used by an engineering company, Ellisons Holdings PLC which transferred from Harden in 1998. However this has recently been bought by an American Company and is now called TransTechnology GB Ltd., so the family link has gone.  The company produces circlips, rings, clips and fasteners for the automotive industry, both in the UK and abroad.  Currently it is planning to expand the warehouse section by adding a new building.  It employs about 300 people, many of whom come in from Keighley, although this number is set to increase in the near future.
