Millennium Projects

The selection of projects was made after a Village Appraisal was undertaken in 1998. Two public meetings were then held to finalise the decisions.

Top of the list came tree planting. This has now been completed in two main ways - first as part of Glusburn School Millennium Garden and secondly as a series of Boundary Oaks planted at strategic points on the parish boundary. This was funded by the Ecology Building Society.

Second came recording the history of the village. A booklet called Glusburn 'The Old Community', has been written by Alec Wood. This is currently on sale in the village, price £4.99. The printing costs have been sponsored by the Millennium Festival Awards, North Yorkshire Millennium Fund and by generous individual donations.
